Starting from demo karting races to closed exchange sessions, the go-kart racing scene is gradually expanding, attracting speed enthusiasts of all ages and genders.

Go-karts come in two engine versions: 2-stroke and 4-stroke. Among these, the 4-stroke engine version is more favored by both hobbyists and professional racers due to its low maintenance costs and ease of repair.

Go-karts are four-wheeled vehicles with a simple structure, lacking driver-assist systems such as power steering, suspension, or differentials. The ground clearance of go-karts is usually under 100mm, allowing for better stability when cornering and making them less prone to tipping over.

Basic go-karts are not equipped with a gearbox. Drivers use the throttle pedal on the right to move forward and the brake pedal on the left to stop. The positioning of the accelerator/brake pedals can be adjusted to suit each driver.

As racing vehicles, go-karts primarily use two types of tires: slick tires for dry tracks and grooved tires for wet tracks. The featured kart in this article is equipped with slick tires from the Sobek brand, with front and rear tire sizes of 4.50-5 and 7.10-5, respectively.

The steering wheel is a flat-bottomed DPE High Grip type with a simple design. Holes are pre-installed on the steering wheel for drivers to mount their personal speedometers. Since go-kart steering wheels lack power assistance, racers need to have good physical strength to control them.

The seat on the kart is made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with a snug-fitting design. Racers are required to wear rib protectors to minimize injuries from impacts against the seat when cornering.

The fuel tank of the go-kart is located in the middle, just below the steering wheel. This tank is rarely filled to capacity, as racing teams usually calculate to use the least amount of fuel possible to reduce the weight of the kart during competitions.

Go-karts only have brakes on the rear wheels. The braking system on 4-stroke karts in Vietnam uses ventilated disc brakes, paired with symmetrical 2-piston calipers.

He power of the kart comes from the Torini engine, with a displacement of 210cc, liquid-cooled. This engine generates a power of 10 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 15 Nm at 3,400 rpm. The selling price of this engine in Australia was $1,130 USD (equivalent to 26.1 million dong) in 2018.

The rear of the kart is fitted with a 3-piece KG bumper. This bumper can be adjusted in width to fit various types of go-karts.
